Type 965 Stock Collar Jacket
The Stock Collar Jacket is cut with an extra wide placket and a short collar, based on shirts worn with riding stocks- the horse’s hoof binding worn around the throat of a rider which evolved to become the modern neck tie.
The canvas version has sleeves in contrasting undyed fabric of the same weight as the body, which takes on the garment dye more brightly. The denim jackets have sleeves cut from much lighter cotton flannel, in a shirt weight, evocative of sleeved waistcoats, traditionally cut with sleeves intended to be kept hidden within a topcoat.
